The Loup Creek Colliery Co. was a coal mining business that mined the Number 2 Gas and the Eagle seams within the Kanawha field. The Loup Creek Colliery Store was opened in 1907 to serve the needs to miners and their families in the town. The only competing business in the town was one local merchant who folded over after six months of the store's opening. Published by Loup Creek Colliery Co. (From postcard collection legacy system.)
