Ken Hechler, author of the book "The Bridge at Remagen" on set for the same titled movie with Ben Gazzara and other actors in 1968 in Davle, Czechoslovakia. Hechler served as a combat historian in the European Theater of Operations during World War II and was attached to the 9th Armored Division when one of its infantry-tank task forces captured the Ludendorff Bridge spanning the Rhine river at Remagen, Germany.
