- The United Presbyterian Church of Morgantown, previously known as the Presbyterian Church of Morgantown, was made up of early settlers of Scotch-Irish Presbyterian background. The church developed sometime around 1788.

- The church was organized in 1834. In 1848 a new church was built and is still in use.
