The photo of the church was printed on the front page of the morning worship service pamphlet, where on the back serves as an itinerary and hymnal guide.The church was established prior to August of 1855. By the 1960's, it held the largest congregation in all of Berkeley Springs.

The Evangelical United Brethren church was organized in 1854.The caption written on the back of the image reads:"First row of adults, left to right: A.J. Summers, retired M.E. Minister; Rev. 12. Mount Olive E. U. B. Church, Harrison County, W. Va.

The church building was erected in the early 1900's after years of holding services in a school house. The organization was likely established in the 1850's.

The Oakland Methodist church is probably the oldest continuous rural congregation in Morgan County. It was officially established in 1824.

The church is located on Little Indian Creek.  There have been three buildings for the church.  The first church was built in 1800.  The current church building was built and dedicated in 1901 and it was named for the Lynch family.

The church was first organized in 1893.  It was originally a Southern Methodist Church.

The church is located close to Booth, W. Va. Church services have been held there since approximately 1851.

The church is located in or near Arnettsville.  The church was first built as a log meeting house and a Methodist Episcopal preacher ministered at the second church built in 1846.  The M.E. South Church was organized at Sniders Temple in 1867.  After the Civil War the Snider family gave land to the Northern Methodists for the church in Arnettsville. In 1902 the new church was dedicated.

The church was first built around 1856 and shared between several denominations including Methodists, Presbyterians, and Baptists. During the Civil War the church split.  In 1905 the current church was built and is served by the Methodist conference.

The southern Methodist church was organized in 1858.

A group of girls sits on the steps of Burns Chapel.  The church was meeting in a school house in 1850.  Plans for a church began in 1906 and building began that summer.  The church was dedicated in 1908.

28. Burns Chapel Church, Morgan District, Monongalia County, W. Va.

The church was organized in 1845. The current building was built in 1860-66.  The church is "situated along the Little Kanawha River, ten miles west Glenville, on State Route 5.  Gilmer County - Dekalb District."

The church in McClelland on Plum Run was organized in 1840. The church re-building program began in 1959.

New Bethel Methodist Church was organized between 1784 and 1786.  The church burned in 1942.  The church then met in the community hall until August 1948. Money was raised and the present stone church was dedicated in 1948.

The church was organized in 1847. It is located 2 miles from Big Wheeling Creek at Sand Hill.

The church assembled in community members' homes before a building was built.  In 1900 the community erected the frame church.  It has since been replaced with a newer building.

The church in Upper Glade, W. Va. was organized in 1855.  The church was first housed in a log cabin, and several years later a wooden building was built.

The church was established in 1849 in the industrial part of town once known as Ritchietown. There were no paved streets or walks and kerosene lamps were used for lighting. The church was 14 years old when West Virginia became a state.
