'Built in 1803. Great Grandaddy Fox 'Martin Fox' went here to meeting in 1808. He was born Aug. 2, 1790 and died in 1884. Monongalia Papers, Volume 2. Photo taken by Mrs. Gilbert Straight, the first wife, on the J. P. Fox farm. Some people say enlarged for tombstones went back into late 1700's.'
'The first pottery in West Virginia was founded here about 1785 and the making of pottery was important before 1800. John Scott, Jacob Foulk, John Thompson, and Francis Billingsley were among first potters.'
Dr. Clark left Blacksville, West Virginia before 1920. His wife was Joanna Stephens. Dr. Clark was born near Moorsville, West Virginia. He practiced dentistry in Morgantown, West Virginia during the 1920's and 1930's until his death in 1945. Photo labeled: Sara Scott

This picture was taken before 1917 as the mill was painted red in 1917. Boss Park bought this mill in 1907 and move there from Tyler County, West Virginia. He modernized the equipment. Boss Park and his wife Mary are standing at the right of the door. The child Mrs. Park is holding is Harry or Earl. Mae Howard, wife of Will Howard is standing on steps just beyond Mrs. Park. Strosnider barn (Livery stable in lower part). Grain mill in upper part. Before being a grain mill this was a woolen mill owned and operated by Moses Strosnider and his family. The Mem's Lantz barn can be seen just above the mill. It was actually across the street on the Lantz homestead. The back can be seen on the Strosmider Hotel.
