'Cameraman was near the DeMain Building on west side of South High Street near the bridge. Showing the Judge Dille property far in the background. The house at the end of the bridge was formerly the property of the late Henry L. Cox, father of Judge Cox. This house was moved about 300 yards up the hill and is now standing in good condition. Note the old Arnett hotel near the west end of the bridge. Shows Mechanical Hall by R. R. and J. W. Wiles house on Highland Avenue. Must have been about 1897.'

'Martin Hall and Woodburn Hall. The brick for the Martin Hall was burnt where the heating plant now stands. The building was built in 1870, at the same time the center part of the Old Experiment Station was built.'

'West Virginia University and Morgantown (1891-1892) as taken from a point some distance north of the U. The Catalogue for one of those subsequent years states that Science Hall was finished in 1893, but no sign of it is to be seen in this picture, but the roof was on Commencement Hall, and the Court House was built (1892), which fixes the date about as given above.' 'View of Morgantown & Sunnyside taken from North Morgantown Hill. Note the orchard along Overhill St. also showing the house owned by the Whites nearby.'

'Yoko and the late George Simmins who was janitor here in 1897. Taken in front of Woodburn Hall. Simmins is an engineer in Charleston at the present time. He taught the colored school in Morgantown for a number of terms.'
