'An architect's scale of the proposed Basic Sciences Building in West Virginia University's new Medical Center. Also shown is the location, to the right, of the proposed teaching hospital, which will be planned initially to contain 400 beds. The Basic Sciences Building, for which ground is to be broken soon, will be five stories in height and contain more than 1,000 rooms. Its functions will be to house facilities for instruction in the pre-clinical years in medicine, nursing and supporting fields, as well as the full program in dentistry and pharmacy.
