Huge tower near the entry end of new Number 3 continuous galvanizing line in the Sheet Mill Department at Weirton Steel Corporation division of National Steel Corporation is a five-stack annealing unit having the capacity to handle heavy gauges. The strip steel is seen in the photo moving up at the center of the annealing unit, and following annealing it enters the galvanzing pot to be coated with zinc. In the right foreground is part of the cleaning unit of the line which operates at 300 feet per minute and can produce 12,000 toms per month. 'Weirton Steel Corporation Photograph Department.'
