'The 600-pound bronze angel statue is slowly lowered onto the tower of the 175-foot church at Sacile, near Udine by a SETAF H-34 Helicopter of the 202nd Army Aviation Company. The helicopter is piloted by Captain William M. Strawn, Jr, and 1st Lieutenant Ramon F. Warner, while SP2 Richard L. Boyd, inside the craft directed the Army crew and Italian workmen in the delicate task. The 16th Century tower originally bore a wooden angel which was destroyed by earthquake and bombardment. 16 August 1957.' 'Please Credit U.S. Army Photograph.'

'The West Virginia University Animal Husbandry Farm on Stewartstown Road has been a headquarters for livestock research in West Virginia for more than 40 years. Experiment Station animal husbandmen are conducting research in many phases of livestock breeding, feeding, and management here and at the Reymann Memorial Farms in Wardensville, a substation of the University's Agricultural Experiment Station.'
Leroy Myers Receives Grant for Study, West Virginia University

Leroy Myers, right, graduate student at Michigan State University, has received a $3,000 annual fellowship for study in the field of city planning and urban renewal, according to Harold W. Lautner, left, head of the M.S.U. department of landscape architecture and urban planning. On behalf of the donor, the Sears-Roebuck Foundation, J.J. Roden, manager of the Sears store in Lansing, Mich., presents the fellowship certificate to Myers. An assistant professor of geography at West Virginia University, Myers will do advanced study at M.S.U. for the coming two years. Four other individuals studying city planning and urban renewal at other universities received similar awards.

Two presidents and their host meet to discuss the joint meeting of the Philosophy Section of the Ohio College Association and the West Virginia Philosophy Society held on the Ohio University campus during the weekend. A few farm workers on a field with cattle; 'Fine herds and flocks of University animals are kept at the farm, where they are used in teaching animal science to students in the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Home Economics. They are also used in the many research projects with beef, swine and sheep raising.'

"Merger Agreement Signed- Culminating months of negotiations between W. Va State Federation of Labor (A.F.L) and the W. Va State Industrial Union Council (C.I.O), representatives of both groups formally sign an agreement on September 24, 1957 which paved the way for the merger convention on November 22, 1957. Helen F. Holt served as the first woman Secretary of State of West Virginia. She had a major influence on the living conditions and long term health care of the elderly of America.
