Camden Park was first established in 1902 as a picnic spot by the Camden Interstate Railway Company, named after former West Virginia Senator Johnson N. Camden. In 1903 a carousel was added to the park. Overtime more amusement park rides were added to the park. It is West Virginia's only amusement park. Published for H.G. Hoffman. The Loup Creek Colliery Co. was a coal mining business that mined the Number 2 Gas and the Eagle seams within the Kanawha field. The Loup Creek Colliery Store was opened in 1907 to serve the needs to miners and their families in the town.
