Description:
Jubal Early, former Confederate General, leans against General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson's headstone in the "Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery". Early served under Jackson in the Army of Northern Virginia during the Civil War. Jackson's remains were reinterred in 1890, several feet from the original grave site. A large statue of Jackson was placed over the new grave.

In a visit to this area in 1928 Winston Churchill is reputed to have said, "That little house witnessed the downfall of the Confederacy."
