Hotel was built in 1796. 'From Left to right the men are Charles W. Finnell, George C. Hayes, who conducted a store opposite the old tavern; and Henry Morgan, a former editor of the Morgantown Post. The colored porter is Abe Croston who worked many years in the hostelry.'
