Grounds of I.C. White property (where White Hall now stands) and WVU Library which was then in the Old Administration Building (now Stewart Hall).  On the Opposite side of the street is the old Lutheran Church which was torn down. A Lutheran student chapel now stands in its stead.

M.S. Briscoe was a Storer College Alumnus, class of 1924.  He received his A.B. degree from Lincoln University, and his A.M. degree in Zoology from Columbia University.  He was a Biology Instructor at Storer College in 1930
