Description:: Huge tower near the entry end of new Number 3 continuous galvanizing line in the Sheet Mill Department at Weirton Steel Corporation division of National Steel Corporation is a five-stack annealing unit having the capacity to handle heavy gauges. The strip steel is seen in the photo moving up at the center of the annealing unit, and following annealing it enters the galvanzing pot to be coated with zinc. It still constitutes a central part of West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and Blind. The building was donated in 1870 to the state of West Virginia as a school for the deaf and blind.'
