S. Route 219 between Thomas, West Virginia and Red House, Maryland. The inscription of the bronze plaque embedded in stone was written by Dr. D.D. Lambert. State Conservation replaced Fairfax Stone with approximately $2,000.00 appropriated by 1955-1957 legislature. $1,500.00 was from 1955 while $500.00 was from 1957.
