Robert Scott worked in the West Virginia University History Department after graduating in 1942, as a teaching assistant. He entered the army in 1943 and was commissioned a lieutenant, Company F, 271st Regiment, 69th Division. Scott was killed at Busham, Germany, February 28, 1945 while leading an attack on a German held position.
