The Kessler Hospital and Sanitarium was built in 1904 after Dr. Archibald Kenton Kessler decided to open his second private hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. His original location was in Clarksburg, West Virginia. The building was located on the southwest corner of 4th Ave. and 5th St. and was the first of it's kind in the city. In the late 1950's the hospital was experiencing financial difficulties and in 1960 the hospital was sold at auction. In 1971 a shopping center was built in its place. Published by J.G.
