Located on the square at the main entrance to the famous Health Mineral Springs. Washington visited here in 1748. Lord Fairfax gave the famous springs to the public. Berkeley Springs was Established as a town in 1776. Virginia treated her sick soldiers here. Dr. C.W. Chancellor called it a 'health-giving luxury fit for the Gods.' Generals Washington, Buchanan, Gates and many others bought lots here. Berkeley Springs is an historical place.'
