Brown came to Elkins on the Cumberland train the night this mill burned, and they phoned in from Montes the mill was burning. Of course, we were unable to get out of there until the morning train about 9:00. M. M. and I were greeted with this ruin which was not an encouraging sight. signed; D. D. Brown'
